Showcasing everything forestry has to offer
Instagram provides the perfect platform to showcase the social and environmental benefits provided by South Africa’s forestry-owned land. This includes the many conservation areas and recreational activities to be found within and around its plantations.
#ForestryFriday
Following the success of last year’s #ForestryFriday photo competition, we have decided to do it all over again!
So whether it’s a work day snap, a beautiful shot of a tree, or a bit of recreational fun in our forests – please share it with us, @forestry_explained and your followers!
Twelve monthly “mini-competitions” will be held, with one monthly winner will receive a R250 Cape Union Mart voucher. Submissions can be made via Instagram every Friday of each month, with the winner (chosen by us reposting all the Friday winner and seeing which gets the most likes) being announced on the first Friday of the new month.
The process is simple:
- Follow @forestry_explained on Instagram
- On Friday, upload a forestry related photo tagging @forestry_explained and using the hashtag #ForestryFriday
- In the photo caption include:
- The location where the photo was taken
- Why you love South Africa’s commercial forests, or, what appealed to you about this photo
- Tag three friends who would also love to visit this place.
- Terms and conditions apply
2020 sees the launch of two new exciting Instagram competitions
#♥SAForestry - launching 21 February 2020
We want to know why you love forestry.
Is it the array of amazing products that have their origins in our forests? The fresh air and fun that can be had on a run, ride or hike in forestry land? Or that you’ve made a successful career from forestry?
Tell us your story, by simply filming a short clip (10 to 30 seconds) of yourself on your phone, explaining why you love forestry and posting it on Instagram. Remember to use the #♥SAForestry and tag @forestry_explained.
Twelve clips will be selected to create three short video montages celebrating forestry in South Africa. These will be published in celebration of International Day of Forests 21 March 2020.
The twelve selected clips will each receive a R250 Cape Union Mart eVoucher.
