Jan/Feb Newsletter: Three reasons to LOVE Instagram

Following the success of last year’s #ForestryFriday competition, which helped generate almost 1000 new followers, over 3131 likes and 12 monthly winners, we plan to do it all again. Only this year it’s going to be bigger!

Our 12 month goal is to double @forestry_explained’s 1 964 following to 4 000, hit the 10,000 likes milestone (we received 8 461 last year) and to run three Instagram competitions promoting all that is great about forestry in South Africa.
Keep posting your #ForestryFriday photos, using the hashtag and tagging @forestry_explained, to stand a chance of winning the monthly R250 Cape Union Mart e-voucher prize.

We will also be launching two new competitions:

#I♥Forestry competition celebrating the many reasons to love South African forestry. This competition will run for a month in the lead up to International Day of Forests, 21 March 2020. We are asking followers to film a short clip of themselves in a forestry setting explaining why they love living, working and playing in forestry. A selection of these clips will be made into a short video to celebrate South Africa’s Forestry Industry, with winners receiving Cape Union Mart e-vouchers.

#ForestryFun competition showcases the recreational opportunities the South African forestry landscape provides, from mountain biking to bird watching, hiking to horse riding. It’s an opportunity for individuals, clubs and communities utilising forestry land to promote their sport, trails, club or passion. The best clips will be made into a short video promoting recreation in forestry, with those chosen receiving Cape Union Mart e-vouchers.
